Sometimes I still can't believe I live in such a geographically lovely place. Many weekends we get to go on the most scenically beautiful hikes. Last weekend, I hiked Wadi Haydan, which was really half-hike, half-swim. The water was cold and crisp and refreshing and I saw some beautiful hexagonally shaped basalt columns just like the ones we studied this summer in Idaho/Washington and similar to the ones observed on Mars. It's also so easy to spend a day on the Dead Sea. Yesterday we had a day off due to "Labor Day" and I spent the whole day at the Movenpick on the Dead Sea and then in the evening went climbing at this really nice climbing gym near the school. The scenery and beaches and pools are unbelievably gorgeous for such a fair cost.
